It has been quite an exciting month for FroggyCakes! Thanksgiving, a trip to Thomasville, Christmas festivities, and birthday season has kept us quite busy. So here is the update on our little rugrats.
Grayson had his first Thanksgiving and all the poor guy could eat was a bowl of oatmeal! I know he must have been thinking "there is no way they will hold out on me on Thanksgiving. I mean seriously, look at all that food." The poor guy was seriously dissappointed. While we all piled our plates high, our little man was stuck with a bowl full of baby oatmeal. I probably should have mixed it with something special like turkey fat or gravy. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20. On the other hand, Emma being a picky eater, had a wonderful time having a staring contest with her turkey. I am pretty sure she won.
Emma has a new BFF. I always knew that she was quite the social butterfly, but she has really outdone herself this time. Her new best friend is none other than Santa himself! 3 weeks ago Santa came to school and the kids got to meet him and have their pictures taken. EmmaCakes asked for a purple toy and my little Frog spent most of the time running his baby fingers through Santa's beard. All in all a good first meeting for him. 2 weeks later, they scored another date with him at the PDC. They got all dressed up again and had a wonderful time. This time Emma asked for a yellow toy and Grayson continued to run his baby fingers through Santa's luxurious beard. A side note: Ben and I are convinced that this was actually Santa. No kidding, the REAL Santa came by the PDC! I had to physically restrain Ben from sitting in his lap and telling him about the latest gadget that he wants in his Christmas stocking! Later that same afternoon, we took the kids to find a Christmas tree, and guess who was there...Santa! When Emma saw him she jumped up and down and said "Santa! Mommy and Daddy, he is my best friend." She and Grayson sat with him and Emma told him how happy she was to see him again. They talked like old friends, Emma hugged him and reminded him to bring her lots of presents. He said he would.
Birthday season is in full swing right now, and it feels like we have been to just about every indoor playground in the state of Georgia. Emma has been hopped up on cake and pizza practically every weekend since the beginning on November (Need proof, check out this video with full volume). And of course all these parties come with a delicious side just about every cold virus and plague found in the western world. As fun as birthday season is, it can be tough for poor Emma because her birthday is very last one. She spends months watching all her friends blowing out their candles and opening presents before it is her turn. That is pretty rough for a toddler. Today she begged me to hold the birthday boy's presents and have a turn sitting in his special birthday chair. We only have 1 more month to go!
Sadly, my little Frog has developed another ear infection (both ears). But it hasn't stopped him from working hard. He is babbling his little face off and trying to figure out how to reach toys that are just out of his grasp. I think he has managed to move 5 or 6 inches by wiggling around on his belly. A he performs a series of crib acrobatics nightly. Strangely, the toys that motivate him the most to move around have been pieces of paper. I really need to learn to stop to stop spending money on fancy new toys!
